Food Assistance

Call the Bethesda Help Line at 301-365-2022. Leave a voicemail message and a volunteer will return your call during our business hours, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Returned calls come from a blocked or No Caller ID number. Be prepared to receive a blocked call, and please answer.  Please do not call to schedule a food delivery unless you are available to take or return calls for assistance.

Requests for food are taken using an “Odd/Even system.”  

If the last number in the house address is an Even number (0,2,4,6,8), call to request food on an Even numbered day of the month.

If the last number in the house address is Odd (1,3,5,7,9), then call to request food on an Odd numbered day of the month.   

If you are eligible (in our service area) to receive food, a Bethesda Help volunteer will deliver a supply of shelf-stable food for the household the following business day.  Please do not schedule a delivery unless you will be home to accept it.

Up to two additional deliveries may be requested each month. There must be a break of seven (7) days between requests for food.

Bethesda Help provides only shelf-stable food items and healthy snack bags for children ages 2-17.
