Food Assistance

If you live in the Bethesda Help Service Area you may be eligible to receive a supply of shelf-stable food.

  • Call the Bethesda Help Line at 301-365-2022. Leave a voicemail message and a volunteer will return your call during our business hours, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Returned calls come from a blocked or No Caller ID number. Be prepared to receive a blocked call, and please answer.

  • Requests for food are taken using an “Odd/Even system.”

  • If the last number in the house address is an Even number (0,2,4,6,8), call to request food on an Even numbered day of the month.

  • If the last number in the house address is Odd (1,3,5,7,9), then call to request food on an Odd numbered day of the month.

  • If you are eligible (in our service area) to receive food, a Bethesda Help volunteer will deliver a supply of shelf-stable food for the household the following business day.

  • Up to two additional deliveries may be requested each month. There must be a break of seven (7) days between requests for food.

  • Bethesda Help provides only shelf-stable food items and healthy snack bags for children ages 2-17.
