We Are A Network Of Local Volunteers Helping Neighbors In The Greater Bethesda Area

Since 1968, Bethesda Help, Inc. - an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)3 organization - has been offering emergency food and financial assistance to residents in our southern Montgomery County, Maryland service area, regardless of income.

Bethesda Help, Inc. provides:

Emergency Food

  • A three-day supply of food for each member of the household delivered to homes in our service area regardless of income

Financial Assistance

  • rent - partial or full payment on overdue rent if you have received an eviction notice
  • utility service - partial or full payment on utility service if you have received a disconnection notice
  • prescription medicine - full or partial payment on verified physician's medicine prescription

Your financial contributions make a difference to your neighbors in need:

$25 – buys food for a needy family with young children

$50 – pays the prescription co-payment for a person with mental illness

$100 – helps a senior citizen living on a fixed-income fill a prescription

$250– helps a family with unexpected medical expenses pay an overdue electric or gas bill

$500– helps a recently unemployed neighbor pay overdue rent
