Financial Assistance

If you are facing a financial crisis, we may provide limited financial assistance for rent, utilities, or prescriptions regardless of your family income or immigration status. Following is a list of the types of assistance we offer and any first steps needed before contacting us.

Financial Assistance To:

  • Prevent Eviction –We are currently not processing requests to assist with preventing eviction. Call the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) at 240-777-4550 or dial 3-1-1 to apply for Rent Relief and/or ask for Housing Stabilization. If you have not received an eviction notice and have other rent concerns, call us at 301-365-2022. .

  • Prevent Utility Shut-off You must have a shut-off notice and a caseworker before contacting us. Call the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) at 240-777-4550 or dial 2-1-1 to be assigned a caseworker. You may also email the Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) to apply for assistance. Once you have a caseworker, call us at 301-365-2022.

  • Pay for Prescription Medications – No referral or caseworker is required to request prescription assistance. We use two Giant pharmacies, one on Arlington Road in Bethesda and the other on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Prescription must be filled at one of them.
